A technology partnership between IRIS Accounting & Business
Solutions and Fitzroy Projects has been honoured at the recent
iTShowcase Awards. The partnership was commended in ‘the most
successful IT Return on Investment’ category of the Awards that are
designed to celebrate the best technology collaborations in UK
Construction. The judges were impressed with the IT strategy and
the implementation: a winning combination that has delivered
tangible business benefits.
Fitzroy Projects uses the Exchequer accounting
and business system, developed by IRIS (www.iris.co.uk) in its
property development business. A project finder and development
manager for projects with a value of up to £25m, Fitzroy (http://www.fitzroygroup.co.uk/)
provides all budgeting, construction and project management
services from inception to unit sales. Their choice of accounting
software is critical to the success of every project and the
Exchequer accounting and business system provides Fitzroy with a
single integrated application incorporating the modules: General
Ledger, Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Job Costing, CIS, Sentimail,
Purchase Orders and the Exchequer Report Writer.
The system’s reporting tools are used
extensively in their dealings with their backers, Lehman Brothers
Real Estate Partners.
In the Entry submitted by Fitzroy, the ROI was
quantified in a number of ways:
- Number of operating companies increased from
5 to 24
- Gross domestic value of properties up from
£9m to £200m in 15 months
- Small accounts team has not been forced to
increase in size despite controlling huge growth
The judging panel included Alison Jones, the
Editor of iTShowcase, and representatives from Construct IT for
Business and the IT Construction Forum.
The Awards were announced at the 2007
Interbuild Exhibition at the National Exhibition Centre and Paul
Sparkes, Product Director of IRIS Accounting & Business
Solutions and Miles Harvey of Fitzroy Projects were on hand to hear
the news.
Miles Harvey commented: “When I heard about
the Awards, I immediately knew that we should enter in partnership.
We could not have achieved this huge growth without the Exchequer
system and their dedicated and supremely qualified team that
understands our business needs and delivered a perfect solution. It
is so refreshing to find a software house that delivers the
promise. In my professional career, I have managed 5 major software
changes. This was by a mile the best and easiest I have ever
experienced.”
The Exchequer accounting and business system
is used by 16,000 companies worldwide, many of which are in
involved in the Construction Industry.
